I'm Debt-Free By Using Elisha's Strategy!
When in debt, get out fast like a gazelle (Proverbs 6:1-5)
Do you want to get out of debt fast like a gazelle? You can, simply by using Elisha’s strategy taken from 2 Kings 4:1-7!
In this story a widow with 2 sons was in deep debt but used this strategy to pay it off with enough money left to live on and she did so without the technology we have today. After reading her story I hope it inspires you, like it did me, to try Elisha’s Strategy!
Elisha's Strategy
To understand Elisha's strategy, I'd like to breakdown the 7 verses from 2 Kings 4:1-7 that make up the Key Strategies.
7 Keys that Make Up Elisha's Strategy
(Verse 1) Ask for Help!
The widow asked Elisha (a man of God) for financial help.
(Verse 2) Find and Give God Something to Use!
Elisha asked the widow what she had in her house. She replied, “Your maidservant has nothing in the house except a jar of oil." The widow gave God something (a product) to work with!
(Verse 3) Find people willing to help you, which demonstrates love and unity towards you, what we call the PLUS (Power of Love in Unity to Succeed™)!
Elisha told her, “Go, borrow vessels at large for yourself from all your neighbors, even empty vessels; do not get a few." The widow found people to help her. We need the PLUS…Power of Love in Unity to Succeed™ in life!
(Verse 4) Set a goal to pay off debt and remove distractions!
Elisha told her to "Go in and shut the door behind you and your sons, and pour out into all these vessels." In other words, the widow was instructed to remove all distractions and focus.
(Verse 5) To speed up the process build a team and ask people to help you!
The widow had a team (her sons) bring her vessels to pour oil into, which sped up the oil pouring process. God multiplied the oil as she poured it into the vessels.
(Verse 6) Use your faith with an Unlimited Vessel. Dream Big, prepare and package your product!
As the widow poured the oil, she asked her son to, “Bring me another vessel..." Her son said to her "...there is not one vessel more and then the oil stopped." The oil she poured was her faith. It stopped when she ran out of vessels!
(Verse 7) Step out on faith and sell. Ask people for their business! God has people in place to support you!
Then Elisha told her, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debt and you and your sons can live on the rest." She believed that people would need her oil, would have the money to pay her price and would buy it from her!
In summary Elisha’s Strategy required the widow to:
Give God something to work with, ask her neighbors for help, gather a team (her sons) and then step out on faith by asking other’s to buy her oil.
